A MESSAGE FROM THE STATE REGISTRAR
QuantumMark, LLC to Provide Onboarding Trainings to
Medical Certifiers in GAVERS & Funeral Homes Can Help
Greetings from the State Office of Vital Records,
As most of you are aware, in 2013 the State of Georgia implemented a Vital Events Registration System, GAVERS. GAVERS is a web-based system that allows all aspects of death registration to be completed electronically.
When GAVERS went live in 2013 about 5% of records were certified electronically. In recent years that number rose to about 40% electronic certification. Now, to bolster our training and outreach efforts to reach even more certifiers, the Department of Public Health has contracted with QuantumMark, LLC to provide onboarding trainings to medical certifiers in GAVERS. Our goal will be to get to 80% of deaths certified electronically through GAVERS.
The trainings will be offered throughout 2022 at no cost via live webinar and will aim to increase usage of GAVERS, reduce rates of drop-to-paper records, and provide improvement on data quality of death records.
QuantumMark will be reaching out to hospitals, nursing homes, and individual physicians to discuss training dates and schedule trainings beginning in April 2022.
Hospitals, Nursing Homes, and Physicians: We appreciate you taking the time to speak with QuantumMark and register for these important trainings.
Local Registrars and Funeral Homes: If you know of a medical facility or physician in your community who might be interested in GAVERS training, please contact your Regional Consultant and we will be happy to speak with you and get more information.
We appreciate everyone’s cooperation to increase electronic death registration which will improve death certificate timeliness and quality. We look forward to working with you on this exciting project in 2022.
Thank you for all you do to support Vital Records and the people of Georgia!
