FEMA Funeral Assistance
for COVID-19 Related Deaths

Under the Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act of 2021 and the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021, Congress authorized FEMA to provide financial assistance to individuals who incurred COVID-19-related funeral expenses after January 20, 2020.   • COVID-19 Vaccination and Testing Emergency Temporary Standard (ETS)
    • OSHA Large Employer Vaccine Mandate Blocked by Supreme Court - January 13, 2022 - U.S. Supreme Court issued an order blocking OSHA’s Emergency Temporary Standard that would have required employees of large private companies (100 or more employees) to either get vaccinated or to test negative on a weekly basis.  It did uphold the mandate for healthcare workers including all employees, contractors, and volunteers affiliated with covered entities, including employees of funeral service establishments who enter Medicare – and Medicaid – certified healthcare provider establishments (“Covered Establishments”).
