Shirley (Harrington) Jones

Shirley Harrington Jones, age 78 of Douglasville, GA, passed away Friday, February 9, 2018.  She was born August 6, 1939 in Cherokee County, GA the daughter of the late Ruel Stanley and Emma Going Stanley. She was a member of New Genesis Baptist Church.  

She is survived by her children, Phillip and Donna Harrington;   Diane and David Anthony;  Delores Wood & Scott Slay; Denise Harding; Doris & Bubba Hucks; Mike and Kathy Jones; sister, Peggy Stanley Warnke and brother and sister-in-law, David and Susan Stanley.

Grandchildren: Jamin and Ashley Harrington; Lauren & Ryan Fee, Courtni Anthony; Kayleigh Anthony, Regina Kellet; Paul & Ashley Vaughn; Jeffrey Wood; Kara Harding and Matthew Johns; Steven and Kacy Hucks, Crystal and Mendell Key; Amanda and Jeff Knight.

Great Grandchildren: Will Harrington, Caige Florence; Elijah and Judah Fee; Jordan and Madison Anderson; Autumn Vaughn; Emma Harding; Haddy and Hunter Hucks; Mattie, Emma, Sarahkate, and Cade Key; Tanner and Dawson Knight.

Nieces, Belinda Stanley; Bonnie and her husband Mark Martinez, and children Hayden, David and Julia Martinez.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband James “Jim” Jones and grandson Jason Harding.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, February 12, 2018 from 5:00 – 8:00 pm.  The funeral service will be Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at 2:00 in the Hightower Chapel with Reverend Ikey Watson and Reverend Lloyd Latham officiating.  Interment will follow at Sunrise Memorial Gardens.
