A Message From Your New Executive Director

It is August 2009 and while the title may say I am the new Executive Director, I can assure you I am the "Old" Executive Director in every since of the word.  My name is Melissa Pelfrey.  Some of you may remember me as your first paid Executive Director brought on to manage your association quite a long time ago, which means I have gotten older too!  And I just couldn't be Happier to be back with all of you!!!  So thank you to the Board of Directors for hiring me again.  I would also like to tell all of you that we have Christie with us as account manager. She has been an account manager in the Funeral Industry for several years and you will all get to meet her soon.  We both feel very honored to be with you.

Now as for plans for the Academy of Graduate Embalmers of Georgia!  We have tallied the surveys from Clinic 2009 and heard your voices.  We are busily planning the 2010 Clinic and look forward to a great event.  It will be held at the Holiday Inn in Forsyth and the Georgia Public Training Center.  There really is no better place to hold our training.  Forsyth is the closest we can be to the center of the State to be fair for everyone to drive in and out for a day training if necessary.  The legalities of having a body present can all be met at GPSTC, where it can not be met at other meeting locations.  The list goes on but you can see why we just love our home away from home in Forsyth.

We hope you have already marked your calendar for April 12 - 14, 2010, for the next Clinic.  We want to once again thank Pierce Chemicals, who without fail has offered speakers at no charge to us for our Clinic.  Without their continual generosity the Academy could not function as it has.  Thank you to Nancy and John for all their years of support and to all of our other Sponsors and leaders who make AGEG the association that has withstood now 54 years of change!

Again, thank you for the opportunity to be with you again.  We look forward to seeing you all during the 2010 Clinic.
